Team USA have 6 of the top 8 Birdie makers over the past 50 rounds on Tour.

Team USA have 5 of the top 5 Birdie makers on Pete Dye layouts, Cantlay, BDC, Brooks, Morikawa and DJ.

The Home team have won 82% of events since the turn of the century  home advantage is playing a bigger role than ever as captain can use all the state of the art computer science and stats to set the courses up to favour their players.

The European team have players seriously out of form, think Westwood, Hatton, Fleetwood, Fitzpatrick & Poulter.

Slight negative for the US team is the inclusion of 6 Rookies, however they are Major Champs, FedEx champions and Olympic Gold medalists between them so they have pedigree for performing under the most intense pressure like they will face this week.

Shane Lowry   

I expect Lowery could be paired with Rory on the first day and if successful I can see him playing in four of the five matches this will give him an outstanding chance to achieve the top rookie status on the European team. He is nearly twice the price of Viktor Hovland Who is quite rightly the favourite but doesn’t have a natural pairing partner like Lowry perhaps does.

Rory Mcllroy

I expect both Rory and Rahm to play all 5  matches for the European team, and given I feel that Rory will partner his countryman in Shane Lowry that team feels extremely strong, and capable of taking down any USA team.  At  2 1/2 points bigger than Jon Rahm for top European scorer I’m prepared to take that chance. I wouldn’t discourage anybody from placing a saver on Jon Rahm at +400 with BETMGM he will go off +350/+330 come the first tee shot.

Jordan Speith

I expect Jordan to play at least four matches this week and that can’t be said for much of the players in this group English & Berger could well play only two games each, also Tony Finau will struggle to play more than three which gives Jordan a real edge straight away. His main competition in the market will be Xander and I could even see them paired together some point although Xander is expected to play with Cantley from everything that I’m reading.

Dustin Johnson & Justin Thomas

Thomas won 4 from 5  on a losing team in Paris. It would be a huge surprise if he didn’t play four or  five matches this week and that can’t be said for many of the American players. I can’t split him and Dustin Johnson this week at +350 combined I’m happy to play them both. I can’t see them being paired together which is something that I like when placing this wager.
